Sleeping Beauty Turquoise in Sterling Silver Pendant. The Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Mine in Arizona has been closed for nearly 20 years. It is probably the most famous turquoise mine in America. Turquoise from this mine is renowned for its beautiful uniform, deep sky-blue color with little or no matrix inclusions. This stone fits the bill, showing wonderful coloring with a bit of lighter matrix. While cutting this piece I noted that the material was discount very hard and was stabilized at the mine. I was able to acquire a bit of rough material from old stock and this is a second stone that I cut from one rough nugget. The stone is a nice size and is set in an attractive sterling silver setting. This piece is for the person who wants, or wants to gift, a genuine Sleeping Beauty turquoise, in a perfect size, at a very reasonable price. Please see all my photos.
