This beautiful, plaster cast plaque was made using Yarrow, Delphinium buds, Lupin seed heads & Fennel to create the impression. It would make a treasured gift for anyone.

The life of flowers and plants is very short lived, the process of casting them is like capturing a moment in time, preserving them to be enjoyed long after they have faded away. Many discount other items can be cast, an old set of dividers, a simple bottle opener or old key. The casting process gives them a beautiful sculptural quality & transforms the items into a work of art. I am happy to take on individual commissions.

This tiles was made by pressing the plants into clay. They were then removed & plaster poured over to create the cast. When the plaster is dry the clay is peeled away to reveal the raised impression. A keyhole bracket is set into into the back to allow the tile to be hung on a wall, or it can simply be propped up on a shelf. The plaster used is very hard when set, but the tiles are only suitable for indoor use & you should avoid rooms with lots of condensation & moisture. The tiles are signed on the back & are made to order, therefore I do not accept returns if you change your mind. The tile measures 15 x 15 x 1.5cm

All the tiles I make are available in the natural colour of the plaster - white, or with colour added – Dark Blue, Olive Green, Rust Red or Brown. Please note colours and tiles may differ slightly from what you see on the screen, they are made to order. They are also available mounted & framed in a selection of complimentary wooden frames - solid Oak, Oak effect & White. You can see examples of these in my shop.

Before packing each plaster tile is checked thoroughly & carefully wrapped in several layers of bubble wrap, then packed in a sturdy cardboard box with polystyrene chips. If framed then extra layers of protection are used to ensure the glass is safe.
