Product code: Rag Rug "Easter Egg Hunt" discount the Greater

This charming long rug reminds me of Easter and joyous hunts for hidden eggs dyed in lavender and pale yellow.

It is woven of hand dyed vintage cotton sheeting and was a part of a large quantity of vintage rags I received from a friend after her mother passed away. She had been a rug weaver and had quite a large quantity of fabric which was given to me. There is a slight hint of her perfume which remains as a memory in the rug.

Warp is done in stripes of dark plum , natural with accents in black
It is a polycotton warp

The size of this rug is 23" x 48"

Length of rug does not include the length of hand knotted fringe

My greatest joy in weaving comes in color exploration. Weaving rag rugs allows me to combine colors in ways that I might not have thought of if the "rags" were not in front of me, daring me to put them together.

All my rugs are woven on a large vintage "Weaver's Delight" rug discount loom built in 1942. The whole house shakes when I am weaving. The designs are my own and I have won several awards for my work. I use all recycled materials in my wefts and either cotton or polyester warp. My rugs are machine washable in warm or cool. It is best to line dry. Give the fringe a good shake to straighten it and hang over a clothesline or rail. With a bit of care this rug will last a good many years.

Shipping is included on this rug when sent within the contiguous United States. I am happy to ship elsewhere. Please contact me before purchase so that I may provide you with an accurate rate.

The little boy in the picture is my husband going off to Kindergarten with his little rug, little realizing how many hundreds of rugs he would later haul after hitching up with a weaver My dearest Puck 1951-2016
