This dollhouse bedroom furniture was made by Strombecker in 1942 in 3/4"=1' scale. The set includes two twin beds, mirrored vanity, chair, bedside table, dresser, lamp and clock. Also included, but not Strombecker products, are the mattresses and pillows.
Made of solid wood with slotted and glued construction and enameled in pink. The round mirror is a thin piece of polished metal nailed to the base of the vanity. The drawer details are impressed into the wood and are non-functional. The bedding is made of flannel in a sweet rosebud pattern.
The beds measure approximately 4 1/2" long and 2 1/2" wide and the vanity is 3 1/2" tall, 3" wide and 1 1/8" deep. The other pieces are relatively sized and more dimensions will be gladly provided.
These toys were mass-produced and it is common to find paint misses, drips and seepage, especially in the 1942 furniture for some reason. These pieces have no breaks or repairs and little sign of actual playwear but show some of the paint irregularities mentioned above. The tin mirror is very nice with one small area of scratching.
