Unique Repurposed Wooden Walking Cane with Fractal wood burning
Hello... This is the back story of this wood cane.
it came from a house clean out and found its way to a Church sale and that's how i came across it. It was in a bit of rough shape so i picked up and brought it home to the wood shop.
I got to working on it and cleaning it up. After the cleaning and sanding all the old paint and varnish off of it that's when i seen how the wood looked. I did my best to identify the wood but could not come to a conclusion on what type of wood it was. So with that said its has some weight to it and its nice and sturdy and has a amazing wood grain pattern to it. So after looking at for a bit this what i decided to do with it.
Sand it down remove all paint and varnish
Pick how to design it and decided to do what's called a Fractal wood burning
(Fractal wood burning is a technique that involves using a high-voltage electrical current to burn patterns into wood)
When burning was done all ash was removed then sanded down lightly and washed down by hand to get the black off
Light color wood stain was discount used and Polyurethane was added
A black Ferrule / Rubber Tip
#2 cane
32" long from top of handle to bottom of rubber boot
1" wide
4 1/2" wide for hand placement (Hook Part)
